Newroz celebration organised under the slogan "Democratic Society for Freedom" started in Istanbul. People embraced the call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan with the slogan "Bijî Serok Apo".
Stressing they take Abdullah Öcalan's call as a basis, "Therefore, we must lead and expand this call" said Cihan Celo, Co-chair of Shengal Autonomous Administration.

Members of the France-Kurdistan Association, who participated in the Amed Newroz, stated that Abdullah Öcalan's historic call should be supported by everyone and emphasised that "Abdullah Öcalan's freedom is important for everyone".
Oya Yildirim, a member of Mûş Religious Scholars Association, pointed out that the attacks against Alawites in Syria will continue as long as the silence continues and said, "We must build a democratic and free life together."

Newroz celebrations in Amed, where hundreds of thousands of people came together, ended with the slogan "Bijî Serok Apo".
Prisoners sent a message to Amed Newroz and they emphasised the need to take steps for Abdullah Öcalan's call and to open the ways of democratic politics.
"New legislation is needed. There is a need for Mr Öcalan's freedom" said DBP Co-chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar in Amed Newroz.
"We are ready for whatever is asked of us for peace, whatever falls on us" said President of the Federated Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani, in his message to the Amed Newroz.
Speaking at the Amed Newroz, DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan criticised the policies of the government and said, "Wrong politics does not lead to the right place."
"Let us join hands for a lasting peace and work for the victory of Kurdistan" said PUK Chair Bafel Jalal Talabani in his message to Amed Newroz.
