WAN - Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Wan (Van) Youth Assembly displayed posters of Abdullah Öcalan in many neighbourhoods in reaction to the police attack on posters of Abdullah Öcalan. 

 

During the recent march in Wan demanding the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, posters and photographs of Abdullah Öcalan were attacked by the police. In response to the attacks, members of Youth Assembly covered many neighbourhoods of the city with posters and photographs of Abdullah Öcalan. 

 

Underneath the posters, they wrote: "Leader Apo is the leader not only of the Kurdish people but also of all oppressed and exploited peoples. He is the leader of socialism in the 21st century. In this sense, no one has the right to criminalise Leader Apo. Leader Apo is the red line of our people and youth. Whatever you do, but know this well: The heart of the youth of Kurdistan, which is united around Leader Apo, beats with its leader. The realisation of the process is linked to the approach to Leader Apo".
