NEWS CENTER - The march organised by Kurdish youth and internationalist youth in Europe demanding the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan started in Cologne, Germany.
The march organised by Kurdish youth and internationalist youth in different countries of Europe with the slogan "Insistence on being human is insistence on socialism, Freedom for Öcalan" to demand the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan started in Cologne, Germany. Kurdish youth also showed great interest in the demonstration attended by about 150 internationalists.
The young people who arrived in Cologne on Tuesday gathered at Mülheim Wiener Square early in the morning. The young people started their march after a statement demanding the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. The statement said that Abdullah Öcalan's recent messages reminded the importance of peace, freedom and democratic sociality.
The statement said: "The most concrete example of this is the recent process that has been realised with courage and determination with the initiative of Rêber Apo and that points to a paradigmatic renewal process. This process marks the liberation from the dogmas of the past, the shackles of real socialism and its impositions, and a new conceptualisation of peace, freedom and democracy."
"We are here to march together, to build the revolution and to embrace a concrete internationalism. In the words of Reber Apo: 'March for democracy and freedom'".
The march will take place over three days from Cologne to Düsseldorf and Dortmund. Every day the participants will organise various discussions and cultural events. Afterwards, there will be a press conference in five languages.
On the last day, the participants will attend the Kurdish Culture Festival in Dortmund and watch Abdullah Öcalan's video message to the public after 26 years.
