Parents of Koçak staged a protest at Istanbul’s Kadıköy Square on Saturday to denounce their son’s worsening state of health and the unlawful treatment he has been subject to.
Father Hasan and mother Zeynep Koçak called for sensitivity from journalists, artists and democratic mass organizations.
While mother Zeynep Koçak cried “My 28-year-old son is about to die for justice”, father Hasan Koçak said: “What did my son do at all? He was a victim of an informant. He is sent to death at the age of 28. Would it be the same if it were not him but a child of a minister?”
The parents of the prisoner on death fast were taken into custody by the police.
