AMED - Mehmet Kamac, Co-spokesperson for the Democratic Unity Initiative, stated that unity among Kurds will lead to victory and that they will work tirelessly to achieve this unity.
While the Peace and Democratic Society Process initiated by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan continues with new developments, one of the most important steps in this process is achieving Kurdish national unity.
Although many efforts have been made to achieve national unity, no results have been achieved in convening a congress. The Democratic Unity Initiative is expanding its efforts to achieve Kurdish national unity.
Democratic Unity Initiative Co-Spokesperson Mehmet Kamaç, who witnessed the weapons destruction ceremony, said that the state's failure to take action was damaging the process. Kamaç said that Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and the PKK had taken steps in line with the spirit of the process: "For the first time in the history of the Middle East, weapons are being laid down in an organized, conscious, and free-willed manner. This is a new example and a historic step in the Middle East. We will continue our efforts until this process reaches its conclusion."
'THE LANGUAGE OF WAR MUST BE ABANDONED'
Pointing out that one of the important steps in the process is unity among Kurds, Kamaç said: "It is very important for Kurds to achieve unity and solidarity in this historic process. The Democratic Unity Initiative will play a critical role in this process. The Initiative will take on the responsibility of national unity and work tirelessly. Unity among Kurds will lead to victory."
Pointing out that the language of the state and the media is damaging the process, "In order for the process to reach a conclusion, we must speak the language of peace. We must abandon the language of war. We must create a language that matches the spirit of the process," he said.
PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
Emphasizing that the Kurds have fought hard to bring honorable peace to the Middle East, Kamaç concluded: "Everyone should be free to live their language, identity, and religion. I strongly condemn the attacks on the Druze Alevis. All oppression and persecution of peoples must be rectified. The construction of a democratic society must be developed here."
