CHP-affiliated Şile Municipality Mayor arrested

NEWS CENTER - Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı and 4 municipality executives were arrested. 

 
CHP-affiliated Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı, who was detained in Istanbul on 10 July on allegations of "establishing terror organization to commit crime", "bribery", "extortion" and "bid rigging", was arrested. Former Chief of Private Staff of the municipality Oguz Kacmaz, Deputy Mayor Tuncal Tolga Ozcakmak, lawyer in charge of Legal Affairs of the Municipality Ali Safak, Chief of Licence Evren Buchan were also arrested. 
 
Kabadayı said in his testify: "When I took office, I delegated the authourities to my deputies, I have no knowledge about the irregular transactions. The person referred to as the mayor in some sections is not me, it is Deputy Mayor T.T.O."
 
Detained Aslı Kotan was released on judicial control conditions. 
 
With the latest arrest, the number of arrested CHP mayors increased to 17.
