The protest against the appointment of a trustee to Dêrsim Municipality by the Ministry of Interior continue. The mass gathere in front of Yeraltı Bazaar in the city center and marched to the municipality where trustees were appointed. Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD), Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD), Alevi Cultural Associations, Alevi Federation of Turkey (ADFE), Alevi Bektashi Federation (ABF) participated in the march.

 

'THEY ARE ENEMIES OF A BELIEF'

 

HDK Co-spokesperson Ali Kenanoğlu made the first speech in front of the municipality where trustees were appointed and stated that there is a continuous attack on Dêrsim due to the richness of both underground and above-ground resources. "The trustees appointed to Dêrsim and Pulur, those who usurped the will of the people here, did not just sit in a seat. At the same time, they are enemies of the people and nature, enemies of a belief," he said.

 

'TRUSTEE UNDERSTANDING IS MONIST'

 

Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSKD) Chair Cuma Erçe stated that the trustee appointments also targeted faith institutions. Stating that they came to solidairty as the representatives of millions of Alevis, Erçe reminded that trustees were not appointed for the first time and said: "Those who want to and Alevi belief and culture and wage war on our faith have taken this step because they cannot get support from the municipalities. This is one of the reasons for this step. Therefore, this trustee understanding is monist."

 

Alevi Bektashi Association Chair Mustafa Aslan also stated that they will stand in solidarity against the trustees. They will continue the struggle against the trustee mentality said Aslan and added: "Do not forget that we are with you. We will give voice to your voice, solidarity to your solidarity against this fascist mentality with the forces of democracy where there are Alevi organisations all over Turkey, may the proper father, Munzur Baba, be with you and help you."

 

'THE AIM OF THE TRUSTEE IS TO PLUNDER DÊRSIM'

 

Alevi Cultural Association Chair Seher Kültür said that they will weave the struggle together and added: "The geography of Dêrsim is a sacred geography with its mountain, stone, water, animal and everything. The aim of this trustee is to plunder these places. We will never allow this. The people of Dêrsim will not allow this. I am calling out to the trustees from here. Here is the challenge, bring them here tomorrow and set up a ballot box. Let this people show you the price of this once again. Let them give you the answer for what you have done once again in the ballot box."

 

Socialist Assemblies Federation (SMF) Representative Mahir Gürüz also said that they will stand by the people of Dêrsim. Underlining that the people of Dêrsim will not submit to the trustees, "Trusteeship is plunder, exploitation and a reactionary plan. It has no legitimacy in the eyes of the people of Dêrsim. We are with the people of Dêrsim," he said.

 

'WE ARE AGAINST THE TRUSTEE'

 

Artist Erdoğan Emir said the following: "We are a society that has defended unity, coexistence and living together against all kinds of sovereign rule. We are against the trusteeship. This is a bad injustice against the will of the people. We stand by our mayors."

 

After the statement, a sit-in protest was organised in front of the municipality.
