NEWS CENTER - There has been no news from journalist Süleyman Ahmet, who was detained by the KDP security forces, for 47 days despite the applications of the lawyers.

 

There has been no news for 47 days from Rojnews' Arabic service editor Süleyman Ahmet, who was detained by KDP forces at the Pêşxabûr (Sêmalka) Border Gate while returning to Southern Kurdistan from Northern and Eastern Syria, where he went to visit his family, on October 25.

 

In the statement made by Duhok Public Order, affiliated with KDP, 6 days after his detention, allegations were made that Ahmet had nothing to do with journalism.

Neriman Ahmet, one of Süleyman Ahmet's lawyers, said that the Duhok Public Order prevented them from meeting with their client on the grounds that the investigation was continuing, and that they learned that the file was under the control of KDP's intelligence agency, Parastin.

 

Although the Süleyman Ahmet Defense Group, formed by lawyers, has made more than 10 applications so far, they have not been allowed to meet with Süleyman Ahmet, and no information about Ahmet has been shared by KDP officials.
