During the Newroz celebration in Manisa, the importance of Abdullah Öcalan's historic call was emphasised and the Newroz fire was lit by Sakine Demir, mother of Seve Demir who was murdered in Silopi in 2016.
Speaking at the Newroz organized by women in Hezex, DBP co-chair Cigdem Kılıçgün Uçar stated that the call of February 27 is a call for common life, freedom and equality and Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom must be ensured.
