WAN / IZMIR - DEM Party members in Wan and İzmir protested against the attacks on North and East Syria.
Wan (Van) Provincial Organization of Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) protested agianst Turkey's attacks on North and East Syria. During the sit-in prtotest the slogan, "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava) was frequently chanted.
DEM Party Provincial co-chair Gülşen Kurt said, "There has been a war in Rojava for years by imperialist states, ISIS and their successors. In the face of the currenct war environment, the peoples of Rojava and Syria need to determine their own future."
Gülşen Kurt said that the AKP-MHP government supports gang organizations in Syria. Gülşen Kurt added, "We see that the life built in Rojava is a democratic life. A model where all the peoples there are free and equal has been built. No outside power has the right to direct this. Every human being has the right to an honourable life. Those who talk about brotherhood and peace on the one hand continue their war policies on the other. The government must now show its sincerity about peace. The attacks on Rojava must be stopped as soon as possible. Rojava people are not alone."
İZMİR
Also in İzmir DEM Party Provincial Organization reacted against the attacks. In the statemen in front of the party building, DEM Party İzmir MP İbrahim Akın stated that the life of the people in North and East Syria are in danger. Akın said, "The Syrian National Army (SNA) and jihadist gangs threaten the lives of the people living there. The future of Syria is on the table by the sovereign powers. You cannot solve the Kurdish issue in the region and in Turkey by extermination and war. We do not want anyone fuelling more war there and interfering in the future of Syria."
