AMED - Citizens who visited the Justice Sit-in in support said: "From now on, it is not enough to lift the isolation on Abdullah Öcalan; he must be completely freed."

The Justice Sit-in, which was launched in Amed(Diyarbakır) under the leadership of the Association for Assistance with Prisoners' Families (TUAY-DER) within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign, has entered its 24th day. The activists, who raise the demand for "freedom" with their white coats saying "Isolation is a crime against humanity" that they wear all day long, are visited by many institutions, organizations and citizens.

Those who visited the activists on duty also drew attention to the role of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was held in İmralı for the democratic solution of the Kurdish issue.

Makbule Akyüz (63), who set out from Amed's Xana Axpar (Çınar) district, was among those who came to support the Justice Sit-in. Akyüz expressed his demands with the words "Don't let mothers' hearts hurt anymore. Let the heavy isolation on our leader end. I came here despite my discomfort for peace, equality and brotherhood."

'THE INTERLOCUTOR OF THE SOLUTION IS CLEAR'

Emphasizing that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is the interlocutor in the solution of the Kurdish issue, Akyüz said: “First of all, if there is to be a solution, it will be achieved through a meeting with our leader. No solution can develop as long as our leader remains captive. The reason why they are not allowed to meet with the leadership is because they are afraid of their opinions. They do not allow any meetings to be held because they fear that their own power would be damaged if their ideas reach the public. The address of the solution is clear. Unless this address is read correctly, peace and tranquility will not come."

'WE WANT YOUR FREEDOM'

Stating that everyone should support the demands of political prisoners in prisons, Sultan Altan said: “Think about how you can be comfortable when your child is not home or your child is on hunger strike. Mothers have neither day nor night with the hunger strikes that started in prisons. For this reason, let's unite around the prisoners in prison. The isolation will not be lifted by a thousand people raising their voices. We must join hands for a social struggle. This is the duty of all of us, and the moment we fulfill our duty, the isolation will be lifted. From now on, a phone call with Mr. Öcalan, a lawyer meeting or a family meeting will not be the solution. The only solution is for Mr. Öcalan to gain complete physical freedom."

'THE INTERLOCUTOR IS ÖCALAN'

DEM Party Xana Axpar District CoChair Emine Acar demanded an end to the isolation and noted that war policies cannot be a solution. Acar said: "The solution interlocutor is Mr. Öcalan, who has been leading the Kurdish people for 40 years."

'A SOCIAL STRUGGLE IS REQUIRED'

Underlining that there has been no news from Abdullah Öcalan for 3 years, Mehmet Salih Kaya said: “We are here to lift this isolation. He is the leader of this people and the leader of the movement. He is isolated so that his message does not reach the public. Isolation does not only affect the Kurdish society, it affects all societies. What happens in prisons today is not independent of isolation. A social struggle is necessary to end the isolation. Our people should be in the areas. If the isolation is lifted, then good things will come."
