NEWS CENTER - In the commemoration events held in many cities for the 104 people murdered in Ankara Station Square on October 10, "No one can erase this memory" was emphasized.

 

8 years have passed since the bomb attack carried out by ISIS against the "Peace and Democracy" rally held by labor and democracy forces in Ankara Station Square on October 10, 2015. While 104 people lost their lives in the massacre, hundreds of people were injured. Various commemoration events were held for those who lost their lives on the 8th anniversary of the massacre, both at the site of the explosion and in many cities.

 

The commemoration was held in İzmir, Malatya, Diyarbakır, İstanbul, Adana, Van, Hatay and Urfa.

 

'WE WILL CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE OF OUR FRIENDS'

 

Those who attended the commemoration wore t-shirts with photographs of those who lost their lives in the massacre. A minute of silence was held in memory of those who lost their lives at 10:04 when the massacre took place. Speaking after the moment of silence, the Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim Sen) Amed Branch No. 2 Co-chair Hasan Çıtrak said: “Our comrades who set out to live peacefully and honorably in a better world were subjected to massacre. We will continue the struggle of our friends. We will be on the streets, no matter the cost, to live in a more beautiful world in peace and for a better future for our children." Carnations were left on graves in commemoration.

 

Green Left Party Riha MP Ferit Şenyaşar condemned the massacre and said: "If this security measure had been taken in Ankara, 103 of our people would not have lost their lives."
