One of the 18 women, who were taken into custody regarding the police operations in the scope of the investigation by Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor regarding Rosa Women's Association, is Havva Kıran (65). Kıran is a member of Peace Mothers Assembly and she was released with the "house arrest" order. Kıran applied vie her lawyers to the Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor in order the house arrest decision to be lifted.

5 CUSTUDIES, 106 INVESTIGATION

"I have gone under medical surgey for both my knewws. If they recognize any law, they should accept my appeal to the house prison and end this decision. I live alone. There is no one in the house I could ask to go to the market and buy me a bread" told the peace mother Kıran. Giving a struggle for peace for years Kıran has diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases. As she has been living alone, Kıran also got two medical operations on both her knees. Struggling peace mother has been taken into custody in total of 5 times till now as 106 investigations has been filed against her.

Kıran spoke to Mezopotamya Agency regarding her concerns about living alone with increasing health problems as she shared what she has been through during and after the custody attack as well as the oppression she experienced until the age of 65.

SHE WAS POINTED A GUN

Mentioning that she could not get out of her home for the last 2 months, Kıran stated that when the police raided her house they did not comply with the rules of physical distancing. Telling about how the police, whose faces were covered, kept guard in her entrance door and 9 police search through her home, Kıran told that she was pointed a gun in her face. She stated that the police came one more time after the first raid, to search the house again and she said that they found an hard-drive which did not belong to her.

Kıran also stated that even though she told the police the hard-drive did not belong to her and she had no literacy, the police forced her to sign the official report.

'I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF MY KID IS STILL ALIVE OR NOT'

"I gave statements in the police station for 5 hours. They told me I was a member of Rosa Women's Association. I am not a member, but I am a Peace Mother. We are a civil society organization. And it is not a crime to attend the press statements of Rosa (Women's Association). They accused us of empty, ridiculous crimes" said Kıran as she listed the crimes she was accused of with the following words:

"They told me 'You got money from Heyva Sor. You help the people in the mountains'. So if I got paid, they need to show a receipt for that, some official bank decont. They told that one of my kids joined Peoples' Defence Unit (YPG). Yes, my kid joined the movement during Kobanê. I don't even know if he is still alive or not. They had already taken me in custody three times to question me about my child. I was accused of joining the funeral of guerillas, who have lost their lives. They also accused me of 'calling them martrys'".

PEACE AWARD IS A CRIME ACCORDING TO THE POLICE

Kıran also shared that the police also accused Peace Mother of receiving a "Peace, Friendship and Democracy Price" from Diyarbakır Medical Chamber: "We have attended the prize ceramony of the Medical Chamber. This was an annual event. They asked me why I joined the event. They also accused me of joining the candidate meeting where the municipal candidates introduced themselves to the public. They also questioned me for calling for Kurdish unity. As a woman, as a mother, I called for the Kurdish unity, I said. For a mother who struggles for freedom and peace, these accusations are not acceptable."

RICE, TOMATO AND CHEESE IN THE FILE

"Why did you ask for 8 packs of rice?", this was what the police asked to the peace mother in the custody questioning, according to the Peace Mother who says: "My son in law has a rice field. The other (peace) mothers asked for some rice from us because of that. As the Peace Mother Assembly we cook our own food. And they also deemed it as a crime when I asked a mother'"There is 50 TL in the kitchen, but some tomatoes with it'. I was blamed using Tomato as a code-word. One of the other evidence they put in the file was about me asking another mother if they would want some cheese when I was heading to Van".

TURKEY SHOULD LOOK AT A MIRROR

Kıran stated that she considers being taken into custody regardless of all her health problems and her age, unlawful, as she continued her criticsm regarding racism: "Turkey also reacted to the murder of a black man, killed in USA. People told that, no one deserves to die like that because of their language, color or what ever. One should look at a mirror, too. One should look at a mirror asking that, what am I doing to my own people. Kurds didn't fall from the space. We are the people of these lands. We didn't deserve such a treatment. I still hear the voice of Dilgeş when he was waiting for her mother, who were in custody together with us. This is such a shame for this state to imprison that mother and her son just like that".

THEY TRY TO DESTROY US

Sharing her evaluations on the political atmosphere and the motives of the attacks targeting them and the  the peace mother told, "Middle East has turned into a boiling pan. Mothers didn't raise their children to let them die. It is the mother, who struggles for their children to live. Kurdish children haven't fallen in love with weapons, they have fallen in love with freedom and fellowship. These are the attempts to destroy us, to destroy Kurds. However, the Kurds have waken up".

'WOMEN WILL STRUGGLE FOR THEIR CHILDREN NOT TO DIE'

Emphasizing that she is not afraid of this long-continuing oppresion she has ben facing for year Kıran concluded her words as follows: "If a mother goes and says 'I want freedom', a mother who have sent her child to the grave, then they should be ashamed of this message of the mother. The women will continue to struggle for their kids not to die.
