The Diyarbakır-based police operations carried out on Friday and targeting the Rosa Women's Association in Turkey was protested by activists of 71 women's organizations in a joint written statement.

 

The statement expressed solidarity with the women detained and added: "Rosa Women's Association provides counselling and support to women who are exposed to violence and carries campaigns and activities.

 

We, together with the Rosa Women's Association, are fighting violence against women. Women need the Rosa Women's Association. All illegal practices against the Rosa Women's Association should end. Our friends who are working with women should be released immediately."
