ŞIRNAK - Nezir Kılıç ended his life by jumping down from the 4th floor of Cizre District Governorate and his wife Kibariye Kılıç spoke after her husbands death. Kılıç said that, the incident happened after he went to the district governorate to ask for help.

In Cizre district of Şırnak, Nezir Kılıç, the father of 4 children ended his life by jumping from the 4th floor of the District Governorate building. 42-year-old Kılıç was 76 percent disabled and he had financial difficulties. It was learned that epilepsi-suffering Kılıç, who has been living in Cudi Neighborhood and provided his livelihood with a disability pension, has been unemployed for 12 years. Kılıç's wife Kibariye Kılıç spoke to our agency about the incident.

'HE WENT TO ASK FOR HELP'

Kılıç noted that her husband had been receiving a disabled pension of 700 TL and therefore he went to the building to meet with the District Governor to ask for help due to economic difficulties. Kılıç said, “We have no one. Our children go to school. There are the costs of living. It is not enough. He only had a disability pension. My children are also unemployed. We have nothing. We are poor and we live under rent. My husband said to me: 'Let me go to the district governor to ask for a help' and I said go. He went and he did not come back, he will never came back."

'HE WAS NOT PROTECTED'

Noting that the suicide took place in the District Governorate, which is the most secure building in the city, Kılıç emphasized that her husband had waited on the window for half an hour before the suicide. Kılıç continued her statements as follows: “None of the officers there could protect him. Both the Municipality and the district governorship, they could not protect him. At least the district governor could hae listened to his problem. What is he doing there using that authority? Didn't we have a right? Didn't he have the right to be listened? The Municipality and the District Governorate could intervene by leaving a sponge on the ground. The officers there made fun of him. There is nothing to be defended about this attitude. I am a complainant against them all. I can not accept such a thing."
