Co- Mayors transferred to Tarsus Prison

MARDİN - Mazıdağı, Savur and Derik Municipality Co-Mayors who were arrested after trustees were appointed to replace them, were transferred to Tarsus Type T Closed Prison.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Mazıdağı Co- Mayor Nalan Özaydın, Derik Co- Mayor Mülkiye Esmez and Savur Co- Mayor Gülistan Öncü who were taken into custody by the police on November 15 as a result of an investigation run by Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, were dismissed and trustees were appointed in their places. The co- mayors who were detained for 12 days, were arrested by the court on November 26 and sent to Mardin Type E Closed Prison. It was learned that the Co- Mayors were transferred to Tarsus Type T Closed Prison.
 
The transferred was learned as a result of the families going to Mardin Prison for a visit. Families were notified by the authorities that they were sent to Tarsus as well as many female prisoners in the particular prison.
 
Co-Mayor of Suruç Municipality Hatice Çevik, who was arrested after the appointment of a trustee, was transferred to Tarsus Women's Closed Prison from Urfa T Type Closed Prison yesterday.
