VAN - Ömer Ertaş, a prisoner from Van Type F Closed Prison, was taken to the doctor 4 months after filing an application. The medicine prescribed to him was not given after the doctor's examination.
Ömer Ertaş who was arrested after he had a traffic accident and before his treatment was over, was put in prison 3 years ago for political reasons. He was taken to hospital 4 months after he filed an application to be examined because of his foot which a platinum was implanted got infected.
According to the information his family recieved from Ertaş, the medicine his doctor prescribed for him has not yet been given to him.
Kadir Ertaş, brother of Ömer Ertaş who stated that his brother was 80 kilos when he was arrested, said he now weighs 40 kilos. Ertaş who states that the prisoners are not getting proper food, asks: "Isn't it the governments responsibility to feed the prisoners? There is a different kind of maltreatment in Van Type F and Type T. We don'ta ccept that. To discipline the prisoners with hunger is not acceptable" and calls on to the humans' rights defenders tor eact against this cruelty.
