ANKARA - Mothers whose sons and daughters on hunger strike started a sit in at the parliament to meet with the Ministry of Justice.

Mothers of the prisoners who are on hunger strike demanding the removal of the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, started a sit in at the parliament to draw attention to the demands.

Mothers coming from Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin started a sit in after the People's Democratic Party (HDP) weekly group meeting.

'WE CAN NOT SIT AND WAIT FOR OUR CHILDREN'S DEATHS

Nezahat Teke who spoke on behalf of the mothers, stated their demand is to meet with the Minister of Justice. Teke who stated that they conveyed their demands to the ministry and waiting for a responce, said: "Our children will not end the hunger strike until the isolation in İmralı is terminated. 30 of our children are on a death fast. We can recieve bad news any moment now. 8 people lost their to draw attention to the same demand. We can not sit and wait for the death of our children. We are mothers. We are here for our sons and daughters. We will not leave here until our demand is met. If the Ministry of Justice gives us an appointment 3 of us will go see him. If he doesn't, we will wait there. This is the furthest we could come. One of my daughters set her body on fire to protest the isolation. I don't want to lose my son to the hunger strike. This is my most natural right."
