Attacks on nature in Şirnex centre and its districts continue uninterruptedly. With forest slaughter on the grounds of "security", oil and mining activities, dams and hydroelectric power plants, a great destruction has been created in every part of the city.

 

New energy projects will be implemented in the coming period. For 10 new energy and mining projects, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has been initiated. Most of the projects cover the districts of Hezex (İdil), Silopi (Silopi), Cizîr (Cizre) and Basa (Güçlükonak). The announcement of the EIA processes for the projects was published on the official website of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change.

 

The announced projects are as follows:

 

* Şırnak SPP Project with Storage (Safe Enerji A.Ş.- Hezex)

 

* 2 separate SPPs with 30 MW capacity (Spon Enerji Üretim A.Ş. - Hezex)

 

* GES project (Kuvvet Enerji A.Ş. - Hezex)

 

* 6 MW capacity SPP project (Traçim Cimento A.Ş. - Cizîr)

 

* Şenoba HEPP and irrigation project, crushing-sieving and concrete plant (DSİ 10th Regional Directorate - Silopiya/Qileban)

 

* Nersüş Dam Project (DSİ 10th Regional Directorate - Silopiya-Cizîr)

 

* 2 separate oil exploration activities (TPAO Batman Regional Directorate - Şirnex-Basa)

 

* Tepeköy Solar Power Plant

 

* Demirboğaz-3 oil exploration drilling
