İmralı delegation meets DEVA Party chair Ali Babacan

ANKARA - "We will stand by any sincere step to be taken," says Ali Babacan, chair of the DEVA Party after met wiht İmralı delegation. Also Sırrı Süreyya Önder stated that Ahmet Türk will also be present in the possible new İmralı visit. 

The İmralı delegation of Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MPs Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, Ahmet Türk, the deposed co-mayor of Merdîn (Mardin) Metropolitan Municipality, who had a meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmrali Type F High Security Closed Prison on 28 December, continues its round of meetings with parties in the Parliament.
 
İmralı delegation met with Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA) Chair Ali Babacan, Deputy Chairs İbrahim Çanakçı, Mehmet Emin Ekmen and Sadullah Ergin attended at the party building. 
 
'ERDOĞAN MUST CLARIFY WHERE HE STANDS'
 
After the meeting, Babacan and Önder made brief statements. Taking the floor first, Babacan said that they held consultations on various issues. Stating that politics is the legitimate solution ground for Turkey's problems, Babacan said, "There is a new climate since 1 October. We say that solution efforts are important in this process. As DEVA Party, we stand by and behind all sincere steps to be taken. We attach importance to the government officials acting in sincerity. We have not seen clearly where Mr Erdoğan stands as President. Parliament is a very important address. However, considering the current system of governance, Erdoğan needs to clarify his stand."
 
'AHMET TURK ALSO TAKE PART IN POSSIBLE IMRALI MEETING'
 
Taking the floor after Babacan, Önder stated that they discussed very important issues during the meeting. Saying that they had received various warnings and suggestions, Önder said, "We have conveyed what has happened so far. Each suggestion and their comments are worth gold. Only by taking these into consideration can we create a basis for reconciliation. This is one of the things we have learnt from past lessons. We will make a very comprehensive statement later. We are in the same place today as we said yesterday about conducting the process transparently."
 
Answering the questions of journalists, Sırrı Süreya Önder stated that the time for a new meeting with İmralı has not been finalised yet, and that Ahmet Türk will also take part in a possible meeting. Önder stated that as the DEM Party İmralı Delegation, they will also meet with Kurdish parties.
 
The delegation then went to the Parliament to visit the New Welfare Party (YRP).
