NEWS CENTER - CHP Chair Özgür Özel made a statement regarding the appointment of a trustee to Colemêrg Municipality: "We reject the appointment of a trustee. The appointment of a trustee should be withdrawn."

 

CHP Chair Özgür Özel reacted to the dismissal and appointment of a trustee by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, citing an ongoing lawsuit and investigation against Colemêrg (Hakkari) Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış. Making a statement on the issue via his virtual media platform X (Twitter) account, Özel stated that they rejected the trustee decision.

 

'WE ARE AGAINST THE TRUSTEE UNDERSTANDING'

 

Özel made the following statements: "We reject the fact that an operation was carried out in Hakkari Municipality in the morning, the Mayor was detained and a trustee was appointed on the grounds of a case that started 10 years ago and is still ongoing. What is happening is to ignore the will of the people of Hakkari, which was manifested only 2 months ago. The trustee appointment should be withdrawn. We are on the side of democracy and the will of the people, and against the trustee mentality."
