NEWS CENTER - In the letter sent to CPT Chair Doctor Alan Mitchell by 91 institutions and individuals supporting the "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan" campaign, they were asked to take action against the isolation and send a delegation to İmralı.

The International Solidarity Network, which launched a campaign demanding the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the solution to the Kurdish issue, sent a letter to Doctor Alan Mitchell, Chair of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) affiliated with the Council of Europe. In the letter signed by 91 institutions and names supporting the "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue" campaign, attention was drawn to the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Ocalan.

Pointing out that Ocalan has been held hostage under absolute isolation for 25 years and that no information has been received from him for the last 3 years, the letter included a call for the CPT to "take action". In the letter, it was stated that the CPT had the right to visit all prisons in Turkey and it was demanded to send a delegation within the framework of Article 3 of the Council of Europe Agreement.
