Justice Watch activists: Our demand is clear, freedom for Öcalan!

NEWS CENTER - There were intense support visits to the Justice Watches held in 6 cities. Stating that their demands are clear together with the prisoners who continue their hunger strike action in 107 prisons, Watch activists demanded for "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue."
 
There has been no news from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in isolation in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, for 34 months. On November 27, a rotating hunger strike action started by political prisoners in prisons, as part of the campaign launched at the international level demanding "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, solution to the Kurdish issue", is on its 37th day.
 
The "Justice Watch" action initiated by the families of prisoners in Wan, Amed, Adana, Mersin, Istanbul and Izmir to support the campaign continued.
 
AMED
 
At the Justice Watch held at the Rezan (Bağlar) District Organization building of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in Amed, under the leadership of the Association of Solidarity with Prisoner Families (TUAY-DER), the relatives of the prisoners wore aprons with the slogan "Isolation is a crime against humanity".
 
Visits were made to the activists throughout the day. The Mothers for Peace (Barış Anneleri) Assembly members from Şirnex, Silopiya (Silopi) Municipality CoMayor Süleyman Şavluk, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) DEM Party Şırnex provincial and district administrators and DEM Party Amed Provincial CoChair Pınar Sakık Tekin.
 
Visitors said they are with the prisoners' families in their struggle and They stated that the Kurds are also under isolation along with Öcalan.
 
Activists also called for support for their Justice Watch.
 
WAN
 
The Justice Watch, initiated under the leadership of Wan Association for Assistance with Detainee and Convict Families (TUHAY-DER), continues its 29th day. DEM Party Wan MPs Gülderen Varlı, Zülküf Uçar and many people visited the activists. During the action, the slogan "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" was frequently chanted.
 
ADANA
 
The Justice Watch in Adana has left one month behind. Banners such as "Isolation is a crime against humanity" and "Let's break the isolation for justice, let's be a voice in prisons for democratic peace" were unfurled in the hall where the action was held, carried out by the Mediterranean Adana Association of Assistance and Solidarity with Families of Prisoners and Convicts (AATUHAY-DER) in the association building.
 
Activists demanded the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan. Cevahir Temel, one of the activists, stated that, as a mother, they want peace and that they do not want neither the guerrillas nor the soldiers and police to lose their lives. She said the key to peace is in the hands of Abdullah Öcalan.
 
MERSİN
 
The Justice Watch action of Çukurova Association for Assistance with Families of Detainees and Convicts (Çukurova TUAY-DER) in Mersin continued on its 30th day.
 
Many people visited the watch in support, including members of The Mothers for Peace Council. People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Mersin Deputy Ali Bozan and the party's provincial and district organization managers.
 
Çukurova TUAY-DER CoPresident Ergin Altuntaş said that the message of the prisoners and Justice Watch activists who continue the rotating hunger strike in 107 prisons is clear. Altuntaş repeated their demands for breaking the isolation of political prisoners, especially Abdullah Öcalan, and for a solution to the Kurdish issue.
 
Saliha Ümit, mother of the prisoner who took part in the action: “Our leader is in prison. The isolation on our leader and other prisoners should be abolished and the persecution should end. I call out to all mothers; Everyone be with us. This isolation must be abolished and peace must be achieved."
 
ISTANBUL
 
In Istanbul, the Justice Watch, which started on December 13 within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish issue" campaign under the leadership of the Marmara Association for Assistance with Detainee Families (MATUHAYDER), continued its 21st day.
 
During the watch held at the DEM Party Esenler District Organization, banners in Kurdish and Turkish, "Let's break the isolation for the construction of a free life, let's be a voice to the prisons" and "Let's break the isolation for justice, let's be a voice to the prisons for social peace" were unfurled on the walls of the hall. Slogans such as "Biji berxwedana zindanan", "Bijî Serok Apo" and "Jin jiyan azadî" were frequently chanted. The watch continues to be met with great interest by citizens. 
 
'LET'S BE A VOICE TO PRISONS'
 
Kumri Akgül, one of the watch activists, stated that their actions should be embraced by the people. Akgül said: “No matter who they are, everyone needs to come and support us. Do not leave us, the mothers and their relatives in captivity, alone. I call on our people to take care of each other. Let's be a voice to prisons. Let us respond to the demands of our prisoners.
