NEWS CENTER - The Spanish search and rescue team, which left Turkey, said: "The government has decided to remove the wreckage with construction equipment. "Such a thing means a lot of people die, we will not be a part of it." 

 

Spanish channel rtve published a news article about why rescue teams from many different countries left Turkey for search and rescue work. Representative of the Spanish NGO, one of the teams waiting for the return at Adana International international terminal, said: “The Turkish government decided to remove the wreckage with construction equipment. Putting in work machines means saving time. But machines kill people. Something like that means a lot of people die. We will not be a part of it."

 

DECISION TO REMOVE THE RUBBLE WITH CONSTRUCTION MACHINES

 

A volunteer in the Slovakia search and rescue team stated that they have been working for 4 days and said: “We were told that we will return today, because now a complete humanitarian crisis is unfolding because the government has decided to remove the rubble with construction equipment." 

 

Another of the teams said: "If there was better coordination or organization, that is, if the authorized institution or government could organize a good organization, we could make better use of the opportunities we have here today."

 

The World Doctors Association Representative, who is in the search and rescue team, referred to the situation in Syria, which was struck by the earthquake, and said: “Let me give you an example to understand the situation in Syria. We are taking the wrecked machines, but there is no fuel that can be used for the machines to save people."
