Schools suspended in Iraqi Kurdistan as attacks escalate

NEWS CENTER – Schools have been suspended due to Iran’s escalating attacks on the Iraqi Kurdistan. 
 
Schools have been suspended following drone attacks carried out by armed groups linked to Iran against the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. 
 
Drone attacks were carried out numerous locations across the region last night. It has been reported that schools in Hewlêr (Erbil), Silêmanî (Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Soran and Koye have been suspended today due to the escalation of attacks. 
 
Three drone attacks were launched on Hewlêr late last night, but the drones were destroyed in mid-air. One of the targets was the market area in Mexmûr (Makhmur). 
 
Attacks were also carried out in Duhok around Nachirvan Barzani’s home and the vicinity of Mount Korek. Among the targeted locations were the Azadî Camp and Zewye Spî in the Koye district. 
 
No information has been shared regarding the damage caused by the attacks.
