NEWS CENTER - Mahbube Shabani and other women in Iran are facing the threat of execution without the right to a fair trial.

As reports of executions being carried out in Iran come one after another, the concerns of families who cannot get news from their loved ones are increasing. In recent days, attention has been drawn especially to the situation of woman political prisoners who have been sentenced to death, with calls being made to international institutions to take action to stop the executions.

According to Nujinha’s report; 30-year-old Mahbube Shabani was among those detained in the protests that took place last January. Accused of waging war against the state and helping injured activists, Mahbube Shabani, who is held in Ward 6 of Vakilabad Prison for Women in Mashhad, faces the risk of her death sentence being carried out.

THE RIGHT TO LIFE IS BEING DISREGARDED

At the same time, Werîşe Muradî, Pexşan Ezîzî, and Şehnaz Tabari are also facing the risk of execution. In recent months, human rights organizations have pointed out that the charges directed at women are being specifically selected to result in the death penalty.

Rights defenders also draw attention to the situation of the detainees, stating that fair trials are not being conducted and that the right to life is being disregarded.
