In Rojava, where Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), ISIS and Turkey-affiliated groups, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and YPJ-YPG have been resisting for days. Groups that feel no need to hide their brutality and misogyny are displaying their war crimes to the whole world through images published on social media platforms. 

 

Women from all over the world showed their reaction and anger by posting videos of themselves braiding their hair in response to footage showing the braids of a woman fighter being cut off. 

 

YPJ fighters resisting in the Eqtan Prison in Raqqa, where ISIS members are held, responded to the videos of women braiding their hair with a video of themselves braiding their own hair. In the video, the woman fighters braid their hair and chant slogans.
