QAMISHLO – The Bakur delegation that travelled to Rojava in a show of solidarity, including the co-chairs of the People’s Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party and the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), is continuing its meetings on the second day of the visit. 

 

Attacks targeting Rojava by paramilitary groups affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), ISIS, and Turkey are ongoing. In response to these attacks, a delegation including the co-chairs of the DEM Party and DBP crossed into Rojava yesterday. The delegation’s diplomatic engagements are continuing today.

 

As part of its program, the delegation first visited the General Headquarters of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Qamishlo. The delegation was received by PYD Co-chairs Perwîn Yûsif and Xerîb Hiso. The meeting was held behind closed doors and was not open to the press. 

 

Following this meeting, the delegation is expected to hold talks with Kongra Star and representatives of various Kurdish political parties. A press statement regarding today’s visits is also expected to be released later in the day.
