NEWS CENTER - In London, Iran and Pakistan’s policies of forced disappearance targeting the Baloch and methods of resistance against them were discussed.

A conference entitled “The Disappeared Baloch Body: Reclaiming It from the State” was held at the University of West London in collaboration with “International Voice for Missing Baloch and UN Academic Impact”.  The conference addressed ongoing human rights violations in Pakistan and Iran, as well as strategies to combat these abuses.

The event was attended by university students, academics and lecturers, alongside representatives from the Baloch community, Pashtuns, El-Avazis, Kurds and other minority groups. At the opening of the event, a video was shown featuring family members of the missing persons expressing their feelings.

Speakers at the event discussed human rights violations in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, the prolonged detention of civilians, and the "kill and dump" policy.  The speakers emphasised that such actions not only violate fundamental human rights but also contravene international law.

The speakers called on global human rights organisations and the United Nations (UN) to take an active role in addressing the Balochistan issue.
