Comittee have changed again in Dargeçit JİTEM case

ANKARA -  The comittee have changed again in the third trial of Dargeçit Jitem. Attorney Erdal Kuzu stated that because of this fact, the case can not get any further.
 
The third trial of Dargeçit Jitem was seen in Adıyaman 1st Criminal Court. The comittee have changed fort he fourth time and the prosecutor have changed 3 times. Except fort he attorneys and the victims, defendant Sadık Çelik attended the trial. While defendants Haydar Topçam and Faruk Çatak attended via video connection (SEGBİS) from Ankara 8th Criminal Court, the others did not enter pleading excuses.
 
VICTIMS DEMANDED SENTENCE
 
 The trial started with the statements of the victims. The victims demanded everyone involved to be sentenced.
 
‘WE CAN’T GET ANY FURTHER’
 
The defence fort he victims stated that the trial can not get any further due to the changes in the comittee and the prosecutors and said “ I dont believe this trial to be fair. And I dont think we can proceed with this case due to the changes in the comittee and the prosecutors.”
 
THE DEFENDANTS HAVEN’T BEEN ARRESTED INSPITE OF THE EVIDENCE
 
Kuzu added: “ This is a case where we discuss extrajudicial executions. The dead bodies were found where the defendants pointed. This alone necessitates fort he defendants to be arrested. It is crystal clear that the defendants have committed these crimes yet no one is arrested.” Kuzu demanded the defendants to be arrested in the consideration of the evidence.
 
IMPLICATION OF THE COMMANDER 
 
Defendant Faruk Çatak said that the arrests of the people who were executed could have been done within the knowladge of the Gendermerie Commander of the time, and the prosecutor.
 
TRIAL GOT POSTPONED
 
After the defence of the defendants, the court board announced their decesion.  The court board saw no reason for arrest due to the reason the defendants were not in suspicion of flee. The trial was postponed to Fabruary 6.
