ÖGİ published its October report: Journalists hand by a thread

DİYARBAKIR- ÖGİ spokesperson Hakkı Botan who emphasizes that the journalist are at danger in Turkey where there are 172 press members in prisons. He said that 1 journalist was murdered, 15 journalists were taken under custody and one was arrested during October.

Free Journalists Initiative (ÖGİ) have announced their october report of violations of rights of journalist in Human's Right Association (İHD) Diyarbakır branch.
 
Hakkı Botan who read the report said there are 172 journalists in prisons in Turkey right now.
 
According to the report, in October 15 journalists was taken under custody, 1 got arrested, 1 was sued, 42 was put on a trial, 5 journalists got 12 years of prison sentence in total, 1 was killed, 1 was exiled, 6 was discharged while 2 journalists got released from prison.
