HDP who stopped AKP from coming to power alone on June 24 and November 1 elections, managed to take their part in the parliament against all efforts to leave them under the elections threshold and had 67 parliamentariens in the assembly.

HDP aims to downgrade the coalition of AKP-MHP and limit their powers in the local elections. In this context, in the workshop held in October 20 in Diyarbakır, HDP who put all their local administration experience on the table with their component Democratic Districts Party (DBP) leaders, aims to take back the municipalities that were appointed trustees and increase the number of municipalities they administrate.

To accomplish this, HDP aims to achieve the allience of the Kurdish in the east. As a first step in this direction, HDP met with the other Kurdish parties' representatives in the previous days.

HDP's objective in the west is to form a Democracy Front against AKP-MHP coalition. HDP plays a key role in shaking the coalition's power in the big cities like İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara and Adana.  HDP is currently working on designating  appropriate candidates to form a Democratic Front in the west through democratic principles.
