Saturday Mothers who’re once again precluded by the police: We just want justice

İSTANBUL- Saturday Mothers, who want to go back to the Galatasaray Square to ask for their missing relatives, once again blocked by the police. Saturday Mothers said “ You have lost our loved ones and now you’re trying to stop us asking for them”
 
Saturday Mothers, who are asking the whereabouts of their missing relatives and who insists their offenders to be judged, wanted to do a sit in in Galatasary Square for the 707th time. Saturday Mothers who met with Saturday People in front of Human Rights Association (IHD) marched towards Galatasaray Square with the pictures of their missing relatives and carnations.The police blocked the march and told them they will not let them make a statement in the square.While they were wearing shirts printed with their relatives pictures, they were holding up a picture of Jamal Khashoggi (Cemal Kaşıkçı), the Saudi journalist who is claimed to be killed. Confederation of Progressive Trade Union (DİSK), Confederation of Public Labourer’s Union (KESK), Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and Republican People’s Part (CHP) accompanied them.
 
IHD BUILDING UNDER BLOCKADE
 
But the police who blockaded the İHD building did not let them march. Maside Ocak whose brother was forcefully dissappeared told “If you let us go to the Galatasaray Square, we wont have tol ive through this scuffle every week.” Police responded “ Get inside the building.”
 
YOU DONT GIVE OUR LOST LOVED ONE’S BACK AND STILL YOU TRY TO STOP US FROM TRYING
 
Hanife Yıldız, mother of Murat yıldız who was forcefully dissappeared in Fabruary 23, 1995 said : “You dont give our lost loved ones back and stil you try to stop us from looking. Give them back and this stops.”
 
WHAT IS THE INCONVENIENCE IN SEARCHING FOR ONE’S LOST? 
 
Mikail Kırbakır, brother of Cemil Kırbayır who was forcefully dissappeared in September 12 ,1980 coup said that they were looking for justice, we are searching for the truth which is concealed by the government as her sister Fatma Kırbayır said “ Find our brother, find Cemil, I left my child back home for bones. We have nothing to do with you we want our brothers bones.” finishing her words with “We will not give up”
 
WHO İS ABDULKERİM YURTSEVEN?
 
This week Abulkerim (Şemsettin) Yurtseven’s whereabouts were asked. He was forcefully dissappeared in October 27, 1995. Besna Tosun, daughter of Fehmi Tosun who was lost in October 19, 1995 read the statement. “Turkey is living through the disaster of lawlessness created by a government and judicial power that does not comply with the principle, superiority of the law”
 
‘WHY WASN’T THE OFFENDERS FOUND’ 
 
Zübeyde Tepe, mother of Ferhat Tepe who was a reporter at Özgür Gündem which was closed with a law decree made a short speech: “We want Galatasaray Square, we were beaten a lot in there. My son was a reporter at Özgür Gündem, They said PKK took him. My son was abducted by Turkish Revenge Brigade. We are sitting silently here, not even shouting slogans, just looking for our lost relatives, why is this pressure?”
 
‘I WILL NOT TURN MY SON IN HIS GRAVE’ 
 
Emine Kaya, daughter of Ahmet Kaya who was forcefully disappeared in 1996 said: “We want peace. We want support from the people. We dont want anyone dying. No police, no soldiars. ”Hanife Yıldız who took the floor and spoke addressed comments to Emine Erdoğan said: “ Mrs. Emine is a mother. She says the right one is the powerful one. Is there anyone who is more powerful than I am? I will not turn my son in his grave.”
 
After the speeches, the protest was finished.
