İSTANBUL- HDK co-spokesman Koçyiğit stated ECHR have turned their back on Kurds with the last verdict they passed regarding Öcalan condoning isolation.

The reactions towards the verdict Europe Human Rights Court’s (ECHR) has passed regarding PKK leader Öcalan who has been imprisoned in İmralı Prison are proceeding.

Öcalan’s lawyers have applied to ECHR in 2010, regarding the maltreatment and torture in a cell search in 2008. ECHR has dismissed the case after 8 years.

People’s Democratic Congress (HDK) co- spokesman Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit stated that she finds the verdict that has been passed after 8 years “meaningful” regarding the verdict is about Öcalan, who has a significant effect on Kurdish Liberation Movement.

Koçyiğit stated: “There is a delayed justice here, and we can not say that justice have established. We are face to face with institutions like UN and ECHR who have been turning their backs on Kurdish people in the person of Mr. Öcalan, democratic society and the opressed because of their own agenda with Turkish government.”

Koçyiğit added: “We are face to face with an ECHR whose verdicts are questionable, and whose verdicts are ineffective. There is the reality of an ECHR who condones lawlessness instead of being an institution who backs lawlessness down. Passing the verdict 8 years too late itself means. We ratify what you do.”
