ANKARA - HDP Organizing Commission Co-spokesperson Özlem Gündüz warned that the society is facing a disaster due to the coronavirus, said a curfew must be declared, meeting the basic needs of the society.

The Coronavirus Crisis Coordination Center, which was created due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, led by the Co-Chairs of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, sent circulars to all provincial and district organizations of the party to carry out precautionary measures and conduct public awareness activities.

Özlem Gündüz, co-spokesperson of the HDP Central Organizing Commission, pointed out that the number of cases and the number of people who lost their lives in the epidemic is increasing, and said: "This poses a social risk. We created crisis desks in all provinces against this risk. The priority of these crisis desks is to keep the public at home. In this way, efforts are underway to ensure both self and public health protection. It seems that the most important measure against this epidemic is provided by social isolation.

Pointing out that the society faces a great risk, Gündüz said that a curfew must be declared before the outbreak spreads through the country. Gündüz said: "The curfew should be declared by preparing the necessary infrastructure to meet the basic needs of the society. The society faces a disaster and a general curfew should be declared as soon as possible."
