New investigation launched for Las Tesis demo in Cebeci Campus

ANKARA -  A new investigation was launched by the University Rectorate against the students participating in the Las Tesis demo in Ankara University Cebeci Campus. The students in question were expelled from their dormitories and their scholarships were cut for participating in the demonstration.

 
Eight students who participated in the Las Tesis dance demonstration held at Ankara UNiversity (AU) Cebeci Campus to draw attention to violence against women, harassment and rape were detained by the police on December 25, 2019. The students were expelled from the Dormitories Institution (KYK) where they stayed and their scholarships were cut. It was learned that a new investigation was opened by AU Rectorate to 3 students who participated in the Las Tesis dance demo.
 
In the document regarding the investigation sent to the students of the Faculty of Political Sciences (SBF), it was claimed that the students tried to obstruct the arrest warrant. In the investigation document, which states that the students were warned, the students were asked to be present in the investigator's room on March 10.
