Prosecution of those who supported the academicians starts

ISTANBUL - Zeynep Tanbay and writer Halim Bulutoglu were among the 17 people who reported themselves to the prosecutor's office in order to support the academicians who signed the declaration called  "We will not be partners in this crime".Zeynep Tanbay and writer Halit Bulutoğlu stood trial today.

In order to support the academicians who signed the peace declaration titled "We will not be partners in this crime" of the Academics Initiative for Peace, the trials of the cases against the artists, journalists and writers who initiated the civil disobedience action and reported themselves to the prosecutor's office began.
 
The first hearing of 17 journalists and artists has been held in Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court. Zeynep Tanbay and Halim Bulutoğlu demanded their acquittal after their defence.
 
 
The court adjourned the trial of Tanbay and Bulutoğlu to 24 September.
