The hunger strike of Leyla Güven on its 100th day

DİYARBAKIR- The hunger strike initiated by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven with the demand of the termination of the isolation is on its 100th day today.
 
Güven was taken under custody with a house raid on January 22, 2019 for criticizing the opertion of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) against Efrin, and after a 9 day detention, she was arrested on January 31, 2018. She was elected as People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Deputy while in prison in June 24 elections and the requests of abatement of proceedings due to impunity was rejected.
 
Güven have announced that she was going to start a hunger strike in her hearing on November 8, 2018 in Diyarbakır 9th Criminal Court and did not attend her hearings there after.
 
Mehmet Öcalan was allowed to visit his brother Abdullah Öcalan on January 12 while Güven's hunger strike was continuing with the demand of terminating the isolation. After the visitation, Güven announced her decision that allowing the visitation once does not mean the isolation is over, and that she will continue her hunger strike until the isolation is actually over.
 
Despite Güven did not attend and had no reuest of release in the hearing on January 25, the court board decided for her release.
 
Güven who was taken to her home in Bağcılar neighborhood from Diyarbakır Type E Closed Prison with an ambulance, continued her hunger strike at her home.
 
Her health that gotten worse in prison, kept detoriorating while she continued her hunger strike at her home. Güven was taken to hospital the other day with the complaints of  tight chest, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, distractibility. Güven who was unconscious when she was hospitalized, refused treatment when she regain consciousness and brought back home.
