İZMİR- 110 year old Fatma Çelik who had to migrate to İzmir from Mardin 16 years ago, doesn't have a registration. Çelik has 5 children and 30 grand children. Because of her advancing age, she requires medical care.

Çelik who said with the proclamation of the republic his father and her husband lived on with the documents from the Ottoman Empire and did not register themselves in the new system, said she past her life as a nomad.Because she had a healthy life in the village and never got sick, therefore did not need a doctor, Çelik said that's why she never felt the need to register. Çelik said her 5 children are registered to their uncles, she never voted and she went to the doctor once, to get some medicine. Çelik added: " I remember Atatürk, the proclamation of the republic..Maybe I am older than 110, we are not sure."

Çelik now stays with her youngest son Davut, and Davut and his wife had a stroke, therefore her grandchildren started to take care of her. Çelik said: "We are trying to get by with the pension of my grandson. He takes care of all 3 of us. Sometimes I need to go to the doctor, but we can't. I am old now, I am not as healthy as before. We tried to register for an I.D but to many hardships came up and they didn't give me an I.D. If only I had a registration my grandchildren would be able to receive guardian's allowance."
