NEWS CENTER - Hrant's Friends condemned the release of murderer Ogün Samast by saying, "Those who protect the murderers is an accomplice to the murder!"
Ogün Samast, who murdered Agos Newspaper's Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink in an armed attack in front of the newspaper building in Şişli, Istanbul, on January 19, 2007, was released from Bolu Type F Prison last night within the scope of conditional release.
Hrant's friends also condemned Samast's release, which caused public discomfort, with their statement.
The statement shared by Hrant's Friends on their social media accounts with the hashtags as follows:
"While the murder of Hrant Dink has still not been clarified and those responsible have not been revealed; while many of our friends, rights defenders, journalists and politicians are being held unjustly and unlawfully in prisons, Ogün Samast, the murderer of Hrant Dink, has been released.
We knew it, we were voicing it, but this has been confirmed by the latest development: There is no justice! There is no conscience! There is no equity!
Those who look us in the eye and say 'kill' are strengthening this darkness that creates a murderer from a baby!
We will not give up, we will not forget, we will continue to say 'those who protect murderers are complicit in murder'.
This case won't end until we say it's over!”
