Gezi Families at the Democracy Watch 2019-09-07 19:31:25     DİYARBAKIR - Democracy watch started in protest with the trustees appointed to HDP Municipalities started on its 20th day with the participation of the Gezi families.   The Democracy watch started in protest with the trustees appointed to Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin Metropolitan Municipalities with the decision of the Ministry of Interrior continues on its 20th day in Lise Street. The sit-in that started with the participation of People's Democratic Party (HDP) Deputies and Mayors,  the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) executives, members of the Assembly of Peace Mothers and the citizens under police blockade, continues with the slogans "Amed Ya Me Ye, Rumeta Me Ye".   On the 20th day of the sit in, Şahap Korkmaz, father of Ali İsmail Korkmaz, Emsal Atakan, mother of Ahmet Atakan, Gülsüm and Sami Elvan, mother and father of Berkin Elvan, Sayfi Sarısülük, mother of Ethem Sarısülük from the Gezi families and Fahiye Yıldırım, mother of Medeni Yıldırım who was killed in the protests regarding the construction of Police Stations participated.   Families who marched through the Lise Street with a banner that has the pictures of their children killed in Gezi Protests by the police, were welcomed by the crowd with slogans and applause.     A press release is expected after the sit-in.
