An application was made to the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission for torture in Halfeti 2019-06-11 13:23:16 ANKARA - HDP Siirt MP Meral Danış Beştaş applied to the Presidency of the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission on the threats of torture, harassment and rape in Halfeti. Beştaş said the commission should immediately determine the torture onsite. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Siirt Deputy and Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission Clerk member Meral Danış Beştaş applied to the Presidency of the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission regarding the torture, ill-treatment, harassment and mass rape threats against the detained 51 people Urfa's Halfeti district.   In the application consisting of 25 pages petition; the allegations of torture that were made public after the detention and the statement made by the Urfa Public Prosecutor's Office were included.     In the application in which the 24 hours attorneu limitation decision was lifted following the statement made by the prosecution, a denunciation was made by İHD and Urfa Bar Association.        A large part of the application petition took place in the statements of citizens detained in Dergili village.
