NEWS CENTER - 69 more people have died of Covid-19 in Turkey during the past 24 hours.

 

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca published latest figures of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country on Thursday.

 

The figures show that the total number of those infected with the virus has risen to 20,921.

 

16,160 tests have been conducted in Turkey on Friday, 2,786 being positive. 69 more people have died today, bringing the death toll to 425.

 

According to the latest figures, 141,716 people have been tested in Turkey so far and 20,921 of these have been confirmed infected. 1,251 are in intensive care and 867 are intubated. 484 of those infected have recovered.

 

Official figures announced by countries under an oppressive and anti-democratic regime like Turkey are not trusted by the people. Non-governmental organisations believe that the Turkish government is hiding the truth on the number of those infected and dead. Images and information circulated on social media contradict with the official figures and there are founded claims that the figures announced by the ministry do not include the many cases and deaths reported in various cities.

 

Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan announced further measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus on Friday. In this scope, those below 20 years of age have been banned from going outside starting tonight.

 

Entry and exit will be banned in 30 metropolitan cities and the northern city of Zonguldak where a high rate of lung diseases is recorded.
