The 6.8 magnitude earthquake with epicenter in Sivrice, Elazığ, caused many damages to buildings and took the life of at least 21 people, imjuring over a thousand.

 

MA spoke to TUAY-DER (Families of prisoners association) and confirmed that prisoners in both Elazığ and Malatya jails are well and that no damage has been reported to the buildings.

 

TUAY-DER members said relatives of the detainees were worried as no news was provided as to the state of the prisons. Today the association will go and meet with prisoners.
