Numerous houses were raided by the police early this morning in scope of an investigation ran by İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. 12 people were taken into custody including Mesopotamia Agency reporter Ruken Demir, JİN NEWS reporter Melike Aydın and TUHAD- FED executives. 

 

Those detained were taken to the Provincial Security Directorate. It was learned that detainees are not allowed to meet with their lawyers on the grounds that there is a 24-hour limitation decision.

 

The names taken into custody are as follows: "Ruken Demir, Melike Aydin, Selma Altan, Gift Thompson, Mehmet Gergin, Sehmus Daghan, Murat Tufan, Sait Bahadir, Ramadan Tufan, Ismail Akbay, Hayri Dikilitas and Mazlum Koc."
