Support for Rojava from the Kurdistan Region

NEWS CENTER – While hundreds of people from Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk set out toward Rojava to support the resistance, residents in Makhmur and Shengal protested the attacks. The demonstrations emphasized solidarity with the Rojava resistance and called for participation in the general mobilization.
 
In the city of Sulaymaniyah (Silêmaniyê) in the Başûr Kurdistan (Kurdistan Region in Iraq), many residents set off to support the resistance in North and East Syria. Groups of young people gathered in the city center and departed in vehicles toward Rojava. From the city of Kirkuk, hundreds of residents also set out toward North and East Syria in vehicle convoys. Slogans supporting the resistance were chanted throughout the convoy, which consisted of hundreds of buses.
 
In the Makhmur (Mexmûr) Refugee Camp, residents remained mobilized throughout the night in response to the attacks. Late at night, camp residents organized a march, chanting slogans to express their support for the people of Rojava.
 
Led by the Êzidî (Yazidi) Youth Union and the Shengal (Şengal) Young Women’s Union, residents of Shengal took to the streets to amplify their support for Rojava.
 
In Xanesor, residents, supported by young women from Shengal, demonstrated with chants of “Bijî Serok Apo, Bijî berxwedana Rojava, (Long live Leader Apo, Long live Rojava resistance)” declaring their readiness to join the mobilization. Later, residents formed vehicle convoys driving through Xanesor, calling on everyone to stand with the Rojava resistance.
 
Êzidî youth had announced in a press statement the previous day that they were ready to participate in the mobilization in Rojava.
