NEWS CENTER - Kurdish organisations in America will hold protests against the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s (HTS) attacks on North and East Syria and the actions in Rojhilat.
Kurdish organisations in the United States (US) will hold demonstrations on Wednesday in front of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C., and on Saturday in front of the United Nations (UN) building in New York City against HTS’s attacks on North and East Syria and actions in Rojhilat (Iran).
‘SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION’
American Kurdish Advocates (AKA) will hold a protest in front of the United States (US) Congress building on Wednesday, 21 January, under the slogan “Defend the Kurds in Syria!”
AKA made the following statement regarding the protest: "American Kurdish Advocates (AKA) is organizing a protest in front of the U.S. Congress to demand protection for Kurds in Syria as they face attacks by Syrian interim government forces. Silence is not an option.
A CALL FOR JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS
On Saturday, 24 January, eight Kurdish organisations will also hold an action in front of the UN building in New York. The organisations' call for action is as follows: "Stop the war on Kurds! Kurdish civilians in Rojava and Rojhilat are facing violence, displacement, and fear. This is a humanitarian catastrophe – and silence only makes it worse. We gather to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Rojava and the ongoing uprising Rojhilat. This is a call for solidarity, justice, and human rights."
