ANKARA / ESKİŞEHİR - Testimonies of politicians, journalists and human rights defenders detained through Ankara and Eskişehir based investigations have started.
The police and courthouse procedures of 231 people including journalists, politicians and rights defenders who were detained on 26 November in house raids in 30 provinces including Amed (Diyarbakır), Istanbul, Mêrdîn (Mardin), Şirnex (Şırnak) and Ankara, through an investigation conducted by Ankara and Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continue.
Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Deputy Co-Chair Sevtap Akdağ, Peyas (Kayapınar) Municipality co-mayor Cengiz Dündar, one of the founders of Human Rights Association (IHD) Nimet Tanrıkulu, President of Genel-İş Remzi Çalışkan, Mersin branch chair of the General-Labour Union (Genel-İş) Kemal Göksoy, Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD) members Şiar Rışvanoğlu, Leyla Doğan, Erdal Güzel, Halef Caruş, Faruk Ayhan, Ecevit Odabaşı, Abdurrahman Aydın, Recep Şimşek and Hamza Kaan, started to testify at the Ankara Courthouse.
TESTIFY OF JOURNALISTS STARTED TO BE TAKEN
Journalists Mehmet Üçar, Erdoğan Alayumat, Bilal Seçkin, Suzan Demir, Tuğçe Yılmaz, Havin Derya, Tuğçe Yılmaz, Mehmet Yaşar Abatan and Serap Güneş were taken to Eskişehir on the same date after being detained in different cities through the Eskişehir based investigation. Jounalist were also referred to Eskişehir Courthouse and prosecutor's testify of the journalists started.
