DÊRSIM - DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar stated that the state's appointment of trustees to the will of the people is an indication that it is over and said: "AKP MHP government lost against the resistance of the people of Dêrsim."

 

Thousands of people made a statement in front of Dêrsim (Tunceli) Municipality, which was surrounded by wall blocks, against the appointment of trustees to Dêrsim Municipality with the order of the Ministry of Interior. Speaking at the protest, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar emphasised that they knew the trustee from 1938.

 

'DENIAL CAME OUT OF THEIR HAND'

 

"That mentality massacred our grandfathers and grandmothers in 1938," said Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar and added: "Now that mentality is establishing an Alevi Culture Presidency over Alevis. We know and recognise this. Whoever raises their voice for freedom and peace is the grandson of Seyit Rıza, Alişêr and Mother Fatma. There is nothing good for the Kurdish people and Alevis in the history of this state. For nearly two months they have been saying; we are extending a hand to you. Denial came out of their hand." 

 

'WE WILL NOT TURN BACK FROM OUR PATH'

 

Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar reminded that the trusteeship had previously played with the beliefs and values of the people of Dêrsim and said: "If we cannot speak our own language today, the reason is the trusteeship. This state has been conducting a trustee policy on the Kurdish people since 1938. That is why we say; We will not accept the trustee. Don't think that; we will turn back from our path. Our path is clear. We have turned our face towards reality. Our reality includes freedom, peace, justice and unity. If they knew the value of those Alevis, we wouldn't be going through this. We know that the issue is not the trustee issue. The real issue is the Kurdish issue. We call out to the AKP government; there will be no solution unless you solve the Kurdish issue. Whicever government has not solved the Kurdish issue so far has fallen from power. The current government will go like them. If a state appoints trustees to the will of the people, that state is finished. That is why we did not lose. The AKP-MHP government lost in the face of the resistance of the people and women of Dêrsim."
