'Let's unite and protect our cemeteries' 2020-05-27 11:19:38   VAN - HDP Van Provincial Co-Chair Ökkeş Kava, drawing attention to the importance of national unity, said: "We cannot protect our language, culture, identity and graves if we do not unite."   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van Provincial Co-Chair Ökkeş Kava spoke about the Kurdish national unity and recently intensified cemetery attacks. Underlining that the greatest efforts and goals of all Kurds should be national unity, Kava said that the reason of attacks on the graves and the values ​​of the Kurdish people is because the national unity can not be established yet.  Underlining that the Kurdish people must build their unity as soon as possible in order to protect their values, Kava pointed out the importance of all organizations and structures taking action as soon as possible."   Stating that it is necessary to know the Kurdish and Kurdistan history well to define the union and to look at this situation as a whole, Kava said, “We are in 2020 but the Kurdish people are still not free and still cannot be united. It is necessary to consider the root and history of this.    Drawing attention to the importance of establishing a national unity against all this fragmentation, Kava said, “Unity is the cry of Ehmedê Xanî and many more. We need to focus on this call for unity and listen to the demands of the people. This unity is the responsibility of both the politicians and all executives. This process is precisely the process of providing unity and solidarity. Now there are attacks on our cemeteries. Why are they attacking our graves so easily? . If we do not object to this, they will continue to attack all kinds of social values."   Stating that the existance and the survival of the Kurdish people depends on this unity, Kava said: "We cannot protect our language, culture, identity and graves if we do not unite. We need to see how they toy with our values and understand how importance it is to stand against it. National unity is vital for us and we have to establish it as soon as possible."
